Did you ever doubt God's love for His Son? Never! You and I are made welcome in that love. What joy! What riches! -Corrie Ten Boom-<>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§>< Hi Dear Ones! Hope this finds your week going well in our Lord Jesus!! Today I have a nice surprise for you. I am sharing the "pulpit" with my Sweetheart, and I pray he encourages you as much as he does me. It is an honor and a privilege to share the commentary section with the man that has been greatly instrumental ( not to mention patient ) in helping with my "growing pains" in my Christian walk. I thank God for him daily. He knew this redneck woman needed a redneck man to accompany her on this pilgrimage..( laughing ) God Bless, and see you at the VERY end..
A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted. As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautifully wrapped gift box. Curious, and somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angry, he rose his voice to his father and said "with all your money, you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house. Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things. When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still gift-wrapped Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt.7:11, "And if ye, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father which is in Heaven, give to those who ask Him?" As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words PAID IN FULL. How many times do we miss God's blessings because we can't see past our own desires??????? -Author Unknown- <>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§>< The enemy of our soul has one purpose - to destroy God's work: to seduce and discourage us, to cut us off from the favor and presence of God. He comes against us with temptation and lust that can lead us to sin, which in turn engulfs us in guilt, fear, or condemnation. Is that happening to you? It happened to me this past week. It may not always be because our heart is wicked. The devil is not as anxious to destroy you as God is to deliver you. God is more prepared to keep His promises than the devil is to ruin you. The nearer the enemy comes to you, the Lord is all the nearer. NEAR means "defense," meaning God is near to defend the downcast and brokenhearted. King David saw God holding his right hand. God is walking hand in hand with you. If this is happening to you, Draw Near to God. He will draw nearer to you (James 4:8). Praise Him!...Seek Him!....Pray! Claim His promises!....Worship Him! Stand still and see the salvation of God....I did, so I know He will do it for you! -By: David Wilkerson- <>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§>< CROSSROADS Sometimes we come to lifes crossroads -Received from: Curler7- <>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§><<>@<><JE§U§>< Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I am deeply honored that the Lord, and Carol, has given me this opportunity to share with you a few words, which touched me and I hope will find their way to your hearts. Carol tells me that I type like I talk, so I hope you can stay with me. It seems that our old adversary, the devil, has really been busy these past few weeks. At a time when the whole world stops and in one way or another acknowledges the birth of Jesus. When we stop for just a moment and try to give of ourselves, unconditionally, love and anything else we can give to show we care. He, the devil, pops up his ugly head and brings in fear, doubt, insecurity, unconcern and a lot of other garbage, and just as Elijah, when Jezebel threatened him, we run and hide. ( 1st Kings 19:3 ) I know that the past few weeks have been really tough on us. Weve doubted everything God has done and wanted to give up. But we did not. He did not give up on the cross and we dare not give up for things as trivial as selfish pride. We seem to forget that God is still in control, still on the throne, and remains ever strong no matter what our weaknesses are. I know I do. I know too that some of you, maybe most of you, OK, all of you at one time has felt like Elijah.<wink>;) But, what great company to be in. He is one if not the greatest prophet in the Old Testament and the one to come proclaiming the coming of Messiah came in the same power and spirit of this man. That being the Holy Spirit. The same power and Spirit that dwelt in Elijah dwells in each believer, in you. PRAISE GOD!! With that being known, we should always be there to encourage one another.
Having said all that, now let me get to my point, you know how preachers like to chase rabbits. It is so easy to say "be encouraged", but let me show you something I saw in the Holy scriptures that really encouraged me.
I have seen this passage before, read it, even preached from it. However, a few weeks back I saw something different. Ive always been of the notion that we were that man, the one that sold all he had for Heavens sake, to gain that great treasure, and we are. But, this last time I saw it so different. I saw God as that man that desired us so much that He gave up everything, even His throne and His life for you, for me, for us.
I know you are saying "what has that to do with God and a field?" Look at what John wrote,
Brothers and Sisters!! God himself is with you and in you. Thats more than enough encouragement. He was crucified for YOU! He was buried for YOU! He arose for YOU! Hes coming back for YOU!!!! He gave up everything to buy us back. Something we did not earn or deserve, but because of his great Love and Mercy and Grace, HE BOUGHT YOU AND ME!!
All that we have is Gods. The good, the bad, the faith and the fear. All is Gods, and all he has asked of us is to share the good news of what he has done for you. HE SAVED YOU!! Ya know, we win some battles, and we lose some. One day our faith can move mountains and the next day we cant even get out of bed. But you know what? God knows that. He has accepted it and made arrangements to get around it.
Paul says it well, does he not? When we are the weakest, we have to depend on God more. We need to praise God when things seem to be the worst. Because at that time, he is closer than ever before, to carry us through. Today, as the enemy is trying to break down the back door and outflank you, God is knocking at the front door wanting to deliver you. Our family recently went to the theater to see "Prince of Egypt" and one scene stood out to me. As Moses and the Hebrews were by the Red Sea and Pharaohs army charged out of the west, God in a cloud charged out of the east and cut Pharaohs army off. He wants to charge to your rescue. I encourage you Brethren. Stand tall and stand fast. God is still there and he is still listening, and he is still providing and protecting his people. May Gods Grace and Mercy continue to be with you all and may his Love shine through you as bright as the noon day sun. God Bless You! And now a word from my Sweetheart's Sweetheart. Amen! (southern drawl) Thank You my Darlin, for a "word fitly spoken."
May you be encouraged Dear Friends, in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!! We both love you all so much and Jesus does too!! In Christ!! Graphics, design &
