Any child will learn to worship God who lives his daily life with adults who worship Him.

He who walks with the wise grows wise....Proverbs 13:20

Little Danny, only six months old, was bitten on the hand by a rat as he lay in his crib. His screams awakened everyone in the house. His parents rushed him to the hospital and the doctors did all they could do with the limited medical techniques available at the time, but the poor baby was just about given up for dead. His mother fell to her knees and screamed aloud, "Please God, spare him and I will vow to you that I will beg pennies from door to door for a whole year to give to the poor. Spare my baby. Please, God, spare my baby." His father, too, dropped to his knees, prayed and vowed that he would never gamble again.

Miraculously, Danny lived, perhaps even with rabies from the rat. And for an entire year, his mother took the streetcar to the end of the line, and walked all the way back downtown, begging pennies from door to door. Sometimes, doors were slammed in her face, but she persevered for a full year, pleading in her Middle Eastern accent, "Blease give bennies to the boor. I bromise God." His father never again gambled.

The memory is the chief reason Danny Thomas cites for keeping his vow to St. Jude and for his generous fundraising on behalf of the St. Jude Children Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

*Quote*
When you are in trouble, go to the Throne before you go to the phone.
Joyce Meyer

Heb 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

The Winepress

As I was lying in my bed,
Thoughts all swirling through my head,
wondering why I ask for bread,
and get a cold, dry crust instead.
Then most unexpectedly,
His voice so gently spoke to me:

"Beloved, it's in the winepress,"
His gentle voice did speak,
"Beloved, it's in the winepress,
The answer that you seek."

I thought of grapes upon the vine,
Full of juice so rich and fine,
Until the Master comes to say,
"Pick them now, this is the day."
Off into the press they go,
Squeezed and crushed, it must be so.

"Beloved, it's in the winepress,
That flavor is released,
Beloved, it's in the winepress,
Your soul will find it's peace."

Grapes still growing on the vine
Safe and whole cannot be wine.
The sweetness that is there within
Won't come through unbroken skin.
And so, it is the same with me;
Crush self to set the spirit free.

Oh Father, thanks for the winepress,
The struggles that are mine,
For only in the winepress
Will I be wholly Thine.

 Hi Brethren!!

I realize that this one is a repeat for some of you...but God has blessed this mailing list abundantly in such a short time, thanks to a few dear, precious friends.....and this one is such a Gem, it bears repeating. My heartfelt thanks to Bobby, Kelly, Christina, Glendia, and Kellie...and others that I probably don't know about yet... for passing the Word around.

So, to the ones that read it once, I pray a nugget that you didn't see before, will impart itself to you...and to the newcomers: Welcome Aboard!! ...and be blessed! Hope it touches your heart, as it did mine. And I would like to remind you, that I don't always have author's names for what I dig up....but I don't claim it as my own unless I sign my name to it.

Be Blessed in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

In Christ!!
