What is a home without a Bible? 'Tis a home where daily bread for the body is provided, but the soul is never fed.

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are like unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:20-22

A young woman was packing a suitcase for a long trip. She said to a woman who was watching her, "I'm just about finished. I only have to put in a guidebook, a lamp, a mirror, my favorite love letters, a microscope, a telescope, a volume of fine poetry, a song book, a few biographies, a package of old letters, a sword, and a set of books I have been studying." The onlooker gasped, "How do you intend to get all that in your suitcase? It's almost full now!"

The young woman replied, "Oh, all that won't take much room" She then walked over to a table, picked up her Bible, placed it in the corner of her suitcase, and closed the lid. Winking at her friend, she said, "And I even got in a loaf of living bread, too."

The Bible says of itself that it is "fresh" with reading....it is never stale. The Bible is always applicable to life, no matter where one lives. And the truths of the Bible are unshakable.....they will last forever and never go out of style. Voltaire once said that in a hundred years, the Bible would be a forgotten book, found only in museums. When the hundred years were up, however, Voltaire's home was occupied by the Geneva Bible Society! Feed your children a healthy portion of the Bible today. Consider it "heavenly food."

Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift,
That's why it's called "the present".

A bird does not know it can fly before it uses its wings. We learn God's love in our hearts as soon as we act upon it.

1 John 4:12
Though we have never yet seen God, when we love each other, God lives in us and his love within us grows ever stronger.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have brought into our hearts God's love through the Holy Spirit who is given to us.

Christmas

(all talent belongs to the Lord and is done for His glory alone!)

There's a special feeling this time of year,
The smell of roast chestnuts, the carol's we hear.
The guests all arriving to celebrate
The children, excited, they can hardly wait!
Taught that "Santa" is coming with all sorts of toys,
Things only dreamed of, to bring them great joy!

Yet how many people, deep inside, really care,
For the Reason we celebrate this time of year?
Blinded by presents, and parties, and things,
How many worship the real King of Kings?
When the holiday's over, and the lights put away,
How many of us will be kneeling to pray?
When the toys are all broken, and laughter is dimmed,
How many hearts will be focused on Him?

Let's open our eyes, give voice to what's true,
That Jesus was born to redeem me and you!
So dig down through the glitter, the paper, the toys,
And reflect on the One who gives us the true joy!
The joy of salvation, the peace deep within,
Of knowing we're cleansed, through His Blood, of ALL sin!
Of knowing, someday, when we stand by God's Throne,
That He will stand with us, so we're not alone!

He's taken the pain, the shame and the sorrow,
So we can stand tall on that Great "Tomorrow".
So joyously share the day of His Birth,
He treasures our happiness, joys in our mirth.
But always remember the Man, that, when grown,
Died for our sin, so we're never alone!

Hello Brethren!

Hope this week starts off with the Lord leading the way in your life! Something happened yesterday morning that triggered my thinking. I was getting ready for church, and walked into the den, looking for something. I felt great pain on the bottom of my foot and realized I stepped on a block. Well, I am blessed with four, beautiful, "active" boys...and blocks on the floor are not unusual, just painful.

Anyway, when it happened, I hopped around and did a song and dance, thanking Jesus, and praising His Holy Name. My sons, were all sitting there, more intrigued by my performance, than concerned for my agony. They started laughing, and really enjoyed the floor show. Afterwards, when the pain subsided, I began reflecting on the fact that a memory was just created. Now, it may not seem like a major one, but what really grasped my heart was the fact that I could have blown up ...said a few "choice" words..and let all "hell break loose."

But, you see, about 10 minutes before that, I was talking to my Father...I was in His Word...and I know...that because I chose to give God the "firstfruits of my day,".......it made a difference. And I hope in some small way, when my children grow up, and reflect on that moment....they will remember to praise God, when they hit their thumb with a hammer...or slam the car door on their hand. It sure does make the pain go away faster!

God Bless You All!! I love you...

In Christ!!
