The Lord can do great things through those who don't care who gets the credit.

A mans pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. Proverbs 29:23

On night in 1837, she believed she heard the voice of God informing her that she had a mission. Nine years later, that mission began to take shape when a friend sent her information about the Institution of Protestant Deaconessess in Germany. She later entered that institution to learn how to care for the sick. In 1853 she became superintendent of a "woman's hospital" in London. But then the Crimean War broke out in 1854, and she volunteered at once to care for British soldiers, leaving for Constantinople almost immediately. Once in Turkey, she was given charge of the nursing at the military hospital. Even though doctors were hostile toward her and the hospital itself was deplorably filthy, she dug in her heels and began caring for her patients, at first using the provisions she had brought with her and then undertaking a correspondence campaign to resupply the hospital. She spent many hours each day in the wards, touching virtually every man who ever entered the hospital. The comfort she gave on night rounds earned her the nickname "The Lady with the Lamp."

Her selfless giving eventually made her name synonymous with compassionate nursing care. She was.......Florence Nightingale.

When we forgive someone, we must not be surprised when old, angry thoughts return to us. The same is true for our confessed sins. We may be tempted, or even fall back, but we have been delivered from our sins, and the temptation will gradually fade from our lives.

1 Cor 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Holy Spirit, teach us how to receive forgiveness, to forgive others, and to forgive ourselves.

Christmas

C is for the Christ child,
a child of love and light

bright that Holy night

R is for the Radiance
of the star that led the way

I is for the lowly Inn
where the infant Jesus lay

S is for the Shepherds
who beheld the Christmas star

T is for the Tidings
the angels told afar

M is for the Magi
with their gifts of myrrh and gold, Marry the giver of birth

A is for the Angels
who were awesome to behold

S is for the Savior
who was born to save all men

And together this spells CHRISTMAS,
Which we celebrate again.

Matt 13:45-46
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Merry Christmas Brethren!!

You know, as I am sitting here, typing this....I realize one thing. You'll be sitting at your computer, in it's designated spot, whether it's in your basement, your den, or squeezed in your living room, or maybe even in your bedroom.

And you will open this mail, and read it. Hopefully, the Holy Spirit will use parts or all of it to minister to you, wherever you are in your walk with Christ.

But, right now, I see you all so clearly, as living breathing souls, even though I cannot physically see you. I know that there are warm bodies out there....with hurts, and disappointments, and dreams....and desires. What your inner man desires for Christmas may not be under that tree...But I tell you this....there is a place where that gift can be found. It's called Calvary.

Remember the chorus to that song, "At Calvary?"

Mercy there was great and grace was free, Pardon there was multiplied for me, There my burdened soul found liberty, At Calvary. It's already taken care of my friends....Just receive it. Just receive the Gift that Christ gave you. Himself. He gave you Himself. And that is the most precious gift in the whole world. He loves you soo much!

You say, "Me? How could He love me?" He loved you so much...that he stretched out His arms and died for you. That is your gift. The others under the tree are wonderful gestures from our loved ones....and if there is nothing for you under the tree, just remember, there was one ON the tree for you. And as each drop of blood was shed, YOU were on His Mind. He did it for you...and He did it for me. Whatever your burden may be....I urge you to leave it at the foot of the Cross...right now....and allow Christ to come in...and bring His Peace, for He is the Prince of Peace.

I love you all very, very much!!

Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

In Christ!!
