Good Morning Sweet Precious Brethren!!

I hope your week is going well! This week's devotional is simply geared on one subject: Jesus Christ. He is EVERYTHING! My prayer is that by the time you are through reading this, there will be a yearning in your heart for more of Him in your life. Please...read on and be blessed with a double portion!!

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 2 Cor 5:18

The old saint was not far from the pearly gates when his minister came to see him, as he had done many times. Looking tenderly down on him, he said, "I'm not going to weary you now, but I'll read to you the sweetest verse in the Bible, and then we'll have prayer together."

He then opened his pocket Testament at the fourteenth chapter of John's gospel , and read: "In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you," and was closing the book and kneeling in prayer, when the dying man stretched out a delaying hand, and whispered, "No, that isn't the sweetest verse. Read on."

So the minister read: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." At that a seraphic smile spread over the face of the dying saint, "That's the sweetest verse. It is not the mansions; it is Himself I want." (Me too......!)

God loves you. And He knows the secrets of your heart. The horrors that you've endured, you cannot blame Him for. You've let the past come between you and God. Turn the past over to Him. He is strong enough to take it. Give Him your future, too. And He'll make you strong enough to face it.

I was frustrated....until I learned to quit either trying to do everything on my own or running to others with my problems rather than running to God.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Seek My Face (Ode To My Brother)

The Lord spoke to me in a dream.
He Spoke about you in this way:
"Come to Me as you are, My son.
I know you've been trying to change.
I know your past and your future.
And yet, I love you just the same.
I will always be by your side.
No child have I forsaken.
I did not create a mankind
to live in fear and hate.
You have been made in My likeness,
where love consumes all of your days.
I will direct you in your ways.
"Not your will but Mine," says the Lord.
"Then My peace you'll have from this day."

Me again!!

Brethren, I was blessed this past Sunday with the privilege of visiting a local church...and while there, I heard a statement that really made a difference in my heart. I would like to impart the fruit of what I've reaped, unto you.

I was praying at the altar, and my heart's cry was for more of Him...I wanted so much MORE of Him, and so much less of me. The truth is, I have become weary of my own pride and insecurities. I heard the speaker say, at that very moment. "Don't try to earn God's love. Just fall in love with Him."

It was as if God Himself spoke to me through this man. As I gazed up at the huge wooden cross affixed to the back wall...I realized in my heart, that only He is able to accomplish by His Spirit, the things that I so adamantly try to accomplish in the flesh.

Zech 4:6
......Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

How many times do we strive to accomplish in the flesh, the things that God can easily do in the Spirit? He has made it so simple, yet we have made it so hard. We reach for tons of books and tapes, trying to satisfy that "insatiable need."

Now, I want to clarify that there is certainly nothing wrong with books and tapes. In fact, I thank God for the easily attainable paraphernalia that gives me insight and helps me grow! But I'm hitting on something much deeper here, and I ask you to bear with me.

What is the agenda of our heart, and what is our cause? Here is Paul's agenda:

Phil 3:13-14
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

This man wanted Jesus to be manifested in his life, more than anything else. Jesus was his goal, Jesus was his Lord, and Jesus was his EVERYTHING...! Everything else paled in comparison! Look at this statement he made: Phil 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, Paul says nothing else can compare, and when he does make comparison, he likens it to human or animal waste! I guess the thing that bothers me deeply is the passiveness that we have gotten into. If someone hears the story of how Jesus died on the cross, it may not move them..and there is a "yawn," and a waiting for it to be over, so they can go on with the next thing on to "appease self."

Remember in a past devotional, I made a statement: "To know Him is to love Him?" How can we love Him, unless we know Him? And how can we know Him, unless we are "getting to know Him?"

As we are awakened to the fact, that as we use our "free will" to go to Him, He will meet us where we are, and continually draw us by His Spirit, and in effect, we are developing an ongoing relationship with Him.

Salvation is not the end, it is only the beginning! As a matter of fact, that is the point where we "break up with the devil, and go steady with Jesus." There is soo much more to this relationship...and that's what it is...a relationship! It is a constant knowing, desiring, yearning, intimate, expectancy!

What takes place before we reach for a drink of water? Don't we have to thirst first? Let me give you this analogy: Suppose I am really, really thirsty, and in front of me, is a glass of pure, clear, clean water. And also before me is a glass of mud, mixed with excrement. (Ok, I know this is gross, but this point is so vital, graphics are necessary!) And I reach for the mud...instead of the "Living Water." When I reach for ANYTHING else, to satisfy the need, that only He can fill, that's what I am doing. Look at what Jesus tells the woman at the well:

John 4:10
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

As I get to know Him, and fall in love with Him, and stop trying to "be a Christian" on my own..then, my life would be much more peaceful, and much more fulfilling! Now look at what Jesus promises in the very same chapter:

John 4:14
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

As He pours Himself into us, we will naturally pour out.. David the Psalmist knew that secret as he wrote: "My cup runneth over." <Psalm 23:5> When two are "in love," they give themselves to one another without reservation. And that is what we have the opportunity to do with Christ...and that is what He wants to do with us...

Fall in love with Him, Brethren. Reach for the Son, and allow Him to transform, to handle, to deal with, the things in your life that are so magnified. As everything else pales in comparison, you will note two things happening: An increase in your faith, and the circumstances in your life falling where they SHOULD, according to His Will....His Timing, and not our own. That is the result of yielding to Him. His way is ALWAYS BEST....and remember: Jesus IS enough!! God Bless You soo much this day, my Brethren...! I love you, and Jesus does too!!

God Bless You soo much this day, my Brethren...!
I love you, and Jesus does too!!

In Christ!!
