3/8/98 Easter Extra

Hi Brethren!!

First of all, I wish you all a Happy Easter....and pray that the Lord Jesus is resurrected in the hearts of all who are reading this!

I would like to share with you something that occurred yesterday. It really blessed me soo much..and I am still thanking the Lord Jesus!

I was out doing yardwork, and two of my sons, Joseph, (7)..and Samuel, (4) were out there with me. I was trimming hedges and had been doing so for more than an hour...and because of a past injury.. , I get recurring back pain, when I do a lot of bending.

Well, it was excruciating by the time I was almost through with the hedges...and I hobbled around trying to finish. Joe was talking to me about all kinds of things....and wanted me to look at him. I was listening as I was trimming, but I explained to him that "Mommy's back was hurting, and it hurt to keep turning back and forth." Then, it occurred to me to ask him to pray for me.

I honestly believe that Joe has a direct line to God. That child has such reverence and sincerity in his prayers. That sweet angel came over and put his little hand on my back...and prayed a simple, yet heartfelt prayer.

After he was through, I moved around a little bit, and realized immediately that the pain was gone! I mean completely gone...!! I bent from side to side....NOTHING! Then, I started rejoicing all over the yard and danced a jig!! I continued the yardwork for two more hours with no hint of pain..!

>From past experience, this pain would usually go through the night and sometimes into the next day. But, because of my little Joseph's unwavering faith...I was free of this pain. And I usually wake up with pain every morning, but this morning...NOTHING!!

It really hit me full force what it meant when Jesus said this:

Matt 18:3-4
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

This encourages me greatly to not attempt to convert my children to "be more like me," but for ME to be more like THEM. Those critters don't worry about stuff near as much as we do. They just accept God's Word at face value. It really ministered to me. The healing was a blessing, but Joseph's example had such merit to me, as well.

He "humbled himself" in prayer...and he believed that God would heal my back. There wasn't a hint of pride or self-seeking gratification. Just a gentle little lamb, with a sweet innocence. No demanding....just a request laced with the faith of a child, that trusts his Father. It really blessed me..and I wanted to share it with you.

I thank God for resurrecting Himself...I thank Him for the Blood atonement that took place for us. I feel such resurrection in my own heart this day..

2 Pet 1:19
.....as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Thanks for letting me share, Brethren. I love you guys so much and I pray that Christ is continually forming in your hearts and minds!! God Bless you SOO much!!

In Christ!!
