Hi Brethren!!

First of all, I want to wish you all a BLESSED DAY in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I woke up this morning, and a particular verse kept rolling through my head, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." <Psalm 91:1>

I heard it several times, and sensed it was time to come in and do my comments for the devotional. I turned on my computer and did a mail check. In the midst of an ABUNDANT response to the prayer request I sent out for Jason, was a letter, with a testimony included.

I feel led to share this testimony in the devotional. I recently met this precious lady in the flesh, and she is a "Little Dynamo" for Jesus! God put her in my path to help organize a retreat, and she has been a blessing in my life since!

Please read on and be blessed!!

He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom.... Isaiah 40:11

In 1857 a tightrope walker named Blondin stretched a two-inch cable across the gorge of the Niagara Falls, attracting a large crowd. He said to the onlookers, "How many of you believe that I can carry the weight of a man on my shoulders across this gorge?" The crowd shouted and cheered their belief that he could do it. Sure enough, Blondin picked up a sack of sand weighing about 180 pounds and carried it across the falls.

Then Blondin said, "How many of you believe that I can actually carry a person across the gorge?" Many people in the crowd indicated that they thought he could do it. Then Blondin called out, "Which one of you will climb on my shoulders and let me carry you across the falls?"

Suddenly there was silence. Everyone wanted to see Blondin person across the gorge and many believed he could. But nobody wanted to put his life in Blondin's hands.

Some time later, Blondin did carry a man across Niagara Falls. The man was Blondin's manager, who had known the tightrope walker personally for many years. "You must not trust your own feelings, but mine," Blondin told his manager as they prepared for the crossing. "You will feel like turning when we don't need to turn. And if you trust your feelings, we will both fall. You must become part of me."

That is what faith in Jesus is: knowing Him personally and entrusting our eternal life into His hands.

If I myself dominate myself,
if my thoughts revolve around myself,
if I am so occupied with myself I rarely have "a heart at leisure from itself,"
then I know nothing of Calvary love.

He Will Carry You

There is no problem too big, God cannot solve it.
There is no mountain too tall, He cannot move it.
There is no storm too dark, God cannot calm it.
There is no sorrow too deep, He cannot soothe it.

Chorus:
If He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders,
I know my brother, that He will carry you.
If He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders,
I know my sister, that He will carry you.

He said, "Come unto me, all who are weary, and I will give you rest."

Dear Carol,

Thanks for the update on Jason. I really want you to express to his parents how much I am remembering them in my prayers. See, in '76 I was the 16 year old girl lying in the hospital bed. I had been sixteen for only a couple of months and had a car accident. I was drug 60 feet on the outside of my car leaving me with little earthly hope of ever living. I was in a coma for 10 days. Prayer chains went up all over the city, state and country for me.

See, I thought I had made a bargain with God. I wanted so to be a cheerleader and I explained to God what a great position that would be to witness to others for Him. I made cheerleader but did not follow through with my commitment. I did everything but witness.

There are so many things in life we put in THE place of importance, not realizing we are tearing out the heart of God. He asks us to seek HIM and to worship HIM, and to love HIM. HE IS OUR STRENGTH in time of trouble. HE IS OUR JOY in time of happiness. Without HIM there is NO STRENGTH or JOY. Both are found in HIM and HIM only.

I am truly praying for GOD to put the person needed in Carl and Jason's life so they many see JESUS. See His wonderful face before it is everlasting too late. Please tell whoever is in the room to only talk of positive things and never let Jason know they may be losing hope. It is amazing what I remember people saying in my room.

In my prayers,
-Wanda, WANDER37-

Me again, Brethren!

Thanks Wanda, for reminding us of the fragility of life, and how another day on this earth can be used to glorify God! You've done just that. And thank all of you who sent similar testimonies! May God Bless you for that!

I'd like to throw in one more plug, before you refill your cup. <Ok, go ahead, I'll wait>

Remember the intro story, how the tightrope walker, Boldin, told his manager that he must become a "part of him, and not trust his own feelings?" This manager allowed Boldin to carry him, because HE KNEW HIM. As our relationship with Jesus continues, we too, will KNOW Him, in a more intimate fashion, when we are more willing to become a "participant," instead of a "spectator."

Did you notice how Boldin gave these instructions ahead of time? This could be likened to a "Spiritual Reconnaissance." God gives instructions ahead of time, to those who seek Him early, whether it is early in the day, or early in the situation. A reconnaissance team in the military is the "forerunner group," and they obtain preliminary information on the enemy camp. A good example of this would be what God showed Gideon.

Also, Boldin was aware that the noise of the waterfall and the sight of the swift current would be fearsome to his manager. The "noise of the waterfall" could represent the negative voices around us, be it the voice of the enemy, or other people, or perhaps our own. It is important to tune in to the voice of the "Good Shepherd," via the Holy Spirit, and receive further instructions from His Word.

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

The "swift current" could be the circumstances that we see with our natural eyes. Those things CAN cause us to turn back BUT, the last time I checked...Psalm 91 is still in His Word, and it's encouraging truth can permeate our beings with our permission.

I remember reading an account of an incident related by Corrie Ten Boom. She was walking down the street and felt a sudden darkness. She didn't "feel" God's Presence. Later, in His Word, He assured her that He was so close to her, that what she was sensing, was His "shadow." When He is carrying us through the hard places, it may seem dark...but, if we reach up for His neck, and snuggle, we will realize that, we too, are in the "shadow of the Almighty."

I will close with a copy of the chapter of Psalm 91. I encourage you to slowly read it, and digest it, and then...bank on it. It's His Word...and God's Word is truth. <John 17:17>

I Love You Brethren!!

God Bless You All!! In Christ!
