T
he time we spend with the Lord in our spiritual gardens is not a time of supplication, nor is it a period of intercession... and no, it isn’t exactly a season of praise in the normal sense...

The Garden Time is when we quietly enjoy fellowship with our Master, our Friend, our Redeemer... Just basking in His glorious presence. It is an interlude of great peace, pervading serenity and joy, all wrapped up in unspeakable love.

Here we view just a tiny part of your vast your spirit garden as we approach the inner courtyard on white brick pavement representing the purity and solidarity of Christ Jesus.

A wild profusion of brightly colored flowers borders the walk on the left reminding us of the brightness and beauty God has placed within each of His children as well as the joy we have in Him.

Just as there were three crosses and there are three in the Godhead,, to the right are three pots where the floral growth is more orderly, for He is a God of order. The red flowers speak of the blood of Jesus shed for us, the white of His righteousness imparted to us and the pink blossoms tell of his tender and eternal love.

Just behind the pots along the garden wall stands a gleaming white pillar representing our Savior. It is embedded in the wall and supports it like a Cornerstone, but extends all the way up and indeed, unseen by us, continues heavenward.

A precious container for the lovely oil of the Holy Spirit is centered in the picture just as He is in your life. Though worn an bruised during long use, it is always filled and refilled... a rare and lovely treasure.

Unseen steps lead down into the privacy of the inner courtyard where the delicate beauty of a marble angel is contrasted with the ruggedness of a huge rock, a boulder from which dainty flowers grow... Jesus is the rock, yet even a bruised reed He will not break. His strength is our comfort.

The angelic statue is but a lovely symbol, just as we are but stone cold icons of Christianity unless we cling to the Rock of Ages and are filled with the Holy Spirit. Without Him we can do nothing, but with Him all things are possible. The blooming tree deep in the inner garden reminds us of the Tree of Life... a tree we can only approach after having come to the Rock of our Salvation.

I pray you will enjoy your garden and be blessed by it as much as you have been a lovely blessing to me
