The mountain stream represents the Living Water offered by Jesus to all who will come to Him, and wending its way o’er rocks and rills, the stream also speaks of steadfast perseverance in the face of obstacles and hardship...

In spite of this, the Light of God shining at the headwaters is reflected throughout the stream's arduous journey and shimmers brightly in the foremost pool. Even so, there is a dense darkness yet in the pool, though God is still working His grace on every life, we are all a work in progress and He deals with our dark places one by one. The shining bird in flight is the Holy Spirit who works to bring Light into darkness.

The golden tree part way upstream reminds us of the Tree of Life... a rare tree and like no other, only our Redeemer’s blood could have purchased it for us.

The bear stands in the trees unafraid. A noble creature, and one who knows his territory. Respectful of danger, yet by it undaunted... this resourceful animal is so like you, Richard. A man who loves all of animals and adores their Creator.

Birds flock to a lush lawn tucked away in this wilderness, relying on food placed in the birdhouse... God provides them homes and food and attends every sparrow’s funeral... How much more, then, will He be faithful to His children?

Red roses, standing for the Rose of Sharon, and soft white wildflowers thrive side by side just as we are called to live in harmony and love with people of all colors.

This is how I see that garden placed in you, my beloved, by the Holy Spirit. I am honored so that you share it with me.
